Pocket Parks, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Built 2015
Bringing colour and play to vulnerable children from some of Cambodia’s most destitute communities.
Building Trust worked with pupils from the The Liger Learning Center and the Cambodian Children’s Fund to design a series of new pocket parks for CCF. Through a number of design workshops, the Building Trust team discussed with the students and worked together to create ideas for their new play spaces through a number of techniques.
With a product donation from The LEGO Foundation the team were able to create 3D models of their designs to show to the group. The pupils designs were brought to life in July 2015. The first pocket park is a series of colourful tyres which children can jump in and out off and play hide and seek within. The second is called the PLAYcube which contains a climbing wall within. Children climb through the steel structure where they get to be high up on their school wall and play with their friends inside the play structure.
